Transcatheter Bicaval Valve System in the Treatment of Torrential Tricuspid Regurgitation and Refractory Systemic Hypervolemia: 12-Month Outcome

Rômulo Francisco de Almeida Torres et al. Alessandro Kraemer Rafael de Almeida Torres Fernanda Proença Lepca Bozzi … Sarah Fagundes Grobe Eduardo Mendel Balbi Filho Guilherme Barreto Gameiro Silva

Abstract

Severe isolated tricuspid regurgitation (TR) is associated with limiting symptoms, negative impact on quality of life, and poor prognosis. The TricValve® device is a transcatheter self-expanding biological valve system designed to mitigate systemic volume overload, improve quality of life, and improve congestive symptoms. We report a 12-month follow-up of a 61-year-old woman with signs of refractory systemic hypervolemia and torrential TR who underwent the procedure. The treatment resulted in significant weight loss, improvement in signs of hypervolemia, and improvement in functional class (FC).

Acute Coronary Syndrome in a Patient With Single-Vessel Coronary Artery: Case Report

Bruno Dala Vedova Gomes Beato et al. Carolina de Souza Galvão Eduardo Belisário Falchetto Eduardo Kei Marquesini Washizu … Fábio Ávila Tofani Juliano Moreira Reis Filho

Introduction

Anomalies of coronary arteries affect 1-2% of the population. , They are associated with increased risk of sudden death and coronary artery injury during surgical procedures. , Among the coronary artery anomalies, the single-vessel coronary artery disease subtype has a low incidence – 0.03-0.04% in patients without other heart diseases and 0.024% in patients with other heart diseases. Concomitant presence of acute coronary syndrome in these patients may have an impact on their prognosis and survival.

Here we report a rare and challenging case of an 81-year-old woman with high-risk unstable angina undergoing emergency catheterization which indicated the presence of single-vessel coronary artery disease with lesions in multiple segments.

Spontaneous Dissection Of Left Anterior Descending Coronary Artery: Case Report

Cybelle Nunes Leão et al. Marilia Medeiros Vitório Machareth Pedro Henrique D'avila Costa Ribeiro Bruno dos Santos Farnetano … Isaac Nilton Fernandes Oliveira Rafael Américo Damaceno

Introduction

Spontaneous coronary artery dissection (SCAD) is a rare cause of acute coronary syndrome (ACS).– It usually affects young women with no risk factors for coronary disease.,–

The real incidence of this disease in the population in general is unknown.,– However, as has been observed in more recent studies, the prevalence of SCAD has increased due to the growth in the use of coronary angiography (from 0.2% to 4%).
