    <p>Female patient, 31 years old, with a history of ischemic stroke 7 years before, was referred for treatment of Patent Foramen Ovale (PFO). She only had a complaint of migraine with aura, with no focal neurological abnormalities.</p>
    <p>On July 2, 2015, she was submitted to an uneventful percutaneous PFO occlusion using a Cardia IntraseptTM prosthesis (CARDIA, Inc., Burnsville, MN, USA). Intraoperative three-dimensional transesophageal echocardiography confirmed correct prosthesis positioning and absence of residual shunt through the bubble test. Current guidelines of the two most important international societies of echocardiography, the European Association of Cardiovascular Imaging and the American Society of Echocardiography, determine that the three-dimensional echocardiography is the echocardiographic modality of choice for monitoring, following and guiding percutaneous procedures performed in hemodynamics and hybrid rooms, as in this case.<xref ref-type="aff" rid="aff1">1</xref>
		</p>
    <p>The patient was discharged on the first postoperative day. After 30 days, adequate placement of the device was confirmed with PFO occlusion through transthoracic echocardiography. The patient remains in outpatient care, with migraine improvement.</p>

      <p>Mulher, 31 anos, com hist&#243;ria de acidente vascular cerebral isqu&#234;mico h&#225; 7 anos, foi encaminhada para tratamento de Forame Oval Patente (FOP). Apresentava queixa &#250;nica de enxaqueca com aura, sem altera&#231;&#245;es neurol&#243;gicas focais.</p>
      <p>Foi submetida em 2 de julho de 2015 a fechamento percut&#226;neo de FOP sem intercorr&#234;ncias, tendo sido empregado o dispositivo Cardia IntraseptTM (CARDIA, Inc., Burnsville, MN, EUA). Ecocardiograma transesof&#225;gico tridimensional intraoperat&#243;rio confirmou o posicionamento correto da pr&#243;tese e a aus&#234;ncia de shunt residual com a realiza&#231;&#227;o de bubble test. Recomenda&#231;&#245;es atuais das duas maiores sociedades internacionais de ecocardiografia, a European Association of Cardiovascular Imaging e a American Society of Echocardiography, determinam que a ecocardiografia tridimensional seja a modalidade ecocardiogr&#225;fica de escolha para o monitoramento, acompanhamento e guia para os procedimentos percut&#226;neos realizados em salas de hemodin&#226;mica e h&#237;bridas, como no relato em quest&#227;o.<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B1">1</xref>
